News article:

(WXYZ) – Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers has earned to Big Ten player of the week honors for his performance against Colorado, the conference announced Monday.

Peppers was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week and Special Teams Player of the Week. He shares the defensive player of the week honors with Ohio State LB Jerome Baker.

He had 3.5 tackles for loss, including a sack, in the game against Colorado. He leads the nation with 9.5 tackles for loss in three games.

Peppers also finished the game with nine tackles and six solo tackles. It was his first defensive player of the week award, and the second Michigan player to receive the honor this year. Mike McCray earned the award two weeks ago.

He also had 204 all-purpose yards against Colorado, including a 54-yard punt return for a touchdown. On two kickoff returns, he had 81 yards and a career-long 55-yard return.

Peppers is the first Big Ten player to earn special teams and defensive player of the week honors in the same week since 1994 when the special teams honor was added.
